Day 679: Oddness of Late
Life has been a it odd. Lately. As usual, I was remiss is updating during the last few days, so here's my game attempt to catch up.
Wednesday: the only thing of note on Wednesday was witness examination really. We discovered that we'd been too nice to each other during practice and so Professor Melilli took the stand. As a witness. It was a bit frightening. He was hilarious, and as mouthy a witness as can be without being a total dork face. I messed up, but he was surprisingly nice about it. And encouraged me to try out for trial team again. (It takes two auditions to make it on.) I will. Try out again. Whether or not I make it on is entirely up to him. I went home and went to the gym like a good girl. Went to a residential committee meeting. I like getting to know my neighbors better. My building has three types of people: working professionals, Creighton med students, and Creighton law students. Goodness gracious. We're all disturbingly studious.
Thursday was a pretty good day. I got to go home early and chill out and things as there was no legal writing, what with writing conferences and all. I have decided to pay a visit to the writing center to get help on my standard of review, argument summary, and conclusion. The bits it seems no one has adequately explained. Ever. Later that evening - much later, nearly nine o'clock, a bunch of us got together and had dinner at the Old Chicago on 78th and Cass to celebrate Dan's birthday. It was awesome. There were at least fifteen of us. I chatted to Ryan, Angela, Adam, and Jake. It was good times. Although eating so late caused me to stay awake, because I cannot sleep on a full stomach.
I did my best to work hard at school on Friday. I had an extra class, which sort of annoyed me. I didn't get that much done, in retrospect. My next volume of Death Note came in, which made me happy. I need to stop going to the bookstore though. Seriously. I got started on my new cross x but didn't finish it. Or reading for crim law. Or even start on outlines. I couldn't sleep last night - was up till nearly half four in the morning, in fact. But I crocheted an entire Cthulhu, finished a bracelet in Byzantine, did several rows of scale maille, finished watching Meet Joe Black. And then watched the entire X-Men movie trilogy. Which made me want to read all of Minisinoo's X-Men fanfic. Which was inadvisable to begin, at 4 a.m.
I was up before eight, however, for conference this morning. I met Audrey and Beverly at the Village Inn on 72d and Sorensen for Jennifer's birthday breakfast. Which was good. Jennifer and I have many awesome geek things in common. Then we went to Amber's place to watch Conference. It was good. But I'll write of it elsewhere. I learned that Zach, the business major, is an amazing artist, and I asked him to do some drawings for me. Which means I need to submit a list of requests sometime. Poor guy. I don't think he knows what he's in for, offering to draw for me. But it'll be awesome if he does it. I learned that Matt and Aaron (in my ward, not Jordan's ward) can crochet. As can Jessica, my old Visiting Teacher. There were cinnamon rolls and chocolate pancakes and loads of snacky junk foods for breakfast/brunch, and then a whole load of pizza for lunch/dinner (which is the same in some places). I wasn't tired all day, which was bizarre. I got another Cthulhu done, which leaves only three. It's a bit disturbing, having them all up on the book case staring at me. And I read for crim law once I got home. (After goofing off on the internet for a shameful amount of time). All I really need to do is my cross x. Outlines can wait, especially since fall break is coming up.
Although I signed up to be a practice witness and objector during fall break for Melilli's trial teams. Have I mentioned that I'm a bit of a masochist at times?
