Seriously. I could hear that X Japan song pounding in my head on Friday.

Thursday was a long day. Again, I was at school a little before seven to secure a parking spot and get things done. Even if the school does sort out the parking nonsense that's going on, I think I'll keep going at seven because I get more done, and honestly, I haven't been getting enough done, despite what anyone may think of me. I didn't have class until two on Thursday, which was Crim Pro and a heck of a lot of fun. But I studied. I read and did homework. Did more Evidence than any one person should do in a single sitting. Evidence is feeling remarkably like Civ Pro. I'm an English major. We don't do rules. One of the random highlights for me this week has been talking to friends online. I talked to Angie Davis, an old friend from a long time ago. She did the whole Voice over IP thing...from South Africa. She sounded different, and yet I knew it was her straight away. It's weird. I got to talk to Rae online, and Maleena a couple of times. But I worked hard on Thursday, then went home and worked on armor. I pulled rings, I ate, I went to a meeting - and now I'm in charge of seeing how to get our building signed up for the whole neighborhood watch dealie and see how that works. I should get on that sometime. I worked on armor a lot on Thursday night. My hands were horrifically dirty by the time I was done, and when I looked in the mirror as I was brushing my teeth I discovered I'd smeared metal sheen all over my face, and I looked like a mechanic. It was funny. I was too tired to do anything about it then and just washed my face in the shower on Friday morning, like I do.

Friday was horrifically long, as I had only one class at ten. I was there before seven, running D&D Tiny Adventures in the background on Facebook. I did the last of the Evidence problems he set for this section, and I read Crim Law and Crim pro to get me through till Wednesday. After Evidence I had lunch, ran errands at the bank, and studied more. To my chagrin, I'd left my wallet in my car. With my ID. And students need their IDs to get into the parking garage. Where I'd left my car. Sylvia was awesome enough to lend me her ID so that I could get my ID. I gave it back to her when I was done. Then I studied. I did my outlines, started them. It looks like there will be only two outlines this year - Crim Law and Crim Pro. Like Civ Pro, a rule-based class, I think Evidence will require flashcards, so I'll go buy some ASAP. But I was at school till five just working on outlines, and my brain broke. I chatted with Kent a bit, who came to study in the corner with me, and I showed him the Harry Potter in the Hood video on YouTube to cheer him up about the Harry Potter weirdness that is moot court.

Then I came home and collapsed on my bed. I woke up in time to eat and meet Kristy at the mall. We hovered in the bookstore for a long time. I bought a birthday present for Beverly there, as well as the first two volumes of Death Note. Which is surprisingly good. I'll have to wait till next month's ration of entertainment money comes before I purchase more, but they're cheaper than TokyoPop volumes, eight instead of ten, so I can get more than ordinarily, especially with my shiny discount card. By sheer randomness, Kristy and I ran into Sally, and we hung out with Sally a bit. I was happily surprised to discover that Sally was a journalism major and so we could talk about literature. It was awesome. We ended up going back to Sally's place to play DDR with her and her roommate Maggie, a nurse who is awesome. Apparently she and Sally have been roommates since undergrad, and they're really cool people. We had a good time, and talked after we got tired. Then I came home and collapsed.

Saturday was...bad and good. Bad as in I got three out of twenty Moot Court cases read. Good as in I slept a lot - because rain was coming on and it was hurting my head. It was awesome because it was Beverly's birthday. We got all dressed up and headed to the Olive Garden to surprise her. As it turns out, she thought it was just going to be dinner with her sister Audrey - who arranged the surprise - and Abby, who went to a wedding reception with them that evening, and Amber who'd she invited earlier in the day (although Amber was already invited to the surprise party). Which meant that Brielyn, Lindsey, and I were the surprise. It was awesome. I'd gotten Beverly a tiny inspirational book - because books are my answer to everything - and as I had no wrapping paper, I tore up old cases and made an origami box. Those origami books I got last year have been amazingly helpful. We got a table eventually, and we had a good time. We laughed a little too loud, and told the waiter we weren't drinking because we weren't old enough and it was Beverly's Sweet Sixteen. Which was hilarious. We had good food and fun conversation, which mostly devolved into plans for FHE on Monday and other things.

We went to Beverly and Audrey's place - got a little lost on the way - and had ice cream cake. We talked and laughed, and for some reason the running joke of the night was Dustin Dryden. Audrey would randomly break out with, "Did someone say Dustin Dryden?" Probably because Amber's boyfriend is also named Dustin, but we've never seen him, and so we joke that he looks just like Dustin Dryden (which freaks Amber out to no end). They showed me their favorite moments from White Christmas, which I have never seen before, and we spent the rest of the night just having a good laugh. They're awesome, awesome girls. I got home and checked my email and went straight to bed, still feeling awful about not getting any homework done.

Today is fast Sunday, so there's break the fast. I can't decide whether I'll make cookies or brownies, but I'm sure I'll work something out. I called Jason to see if I could swing by before Church to give Ella her doll, but he hasn't answered, so I'll do my institute homework and then call again.

All in all, I had fun this weekend, but holy crap, Catholic guilt says I need to work harder.

And I'm not even Catholic.
