Day 622: Home Safe
May. 6th, 2008 10:35 pmSo it's been a wild ride.
On Saturday morning I awoke at eight, and my first thought was that if I got up I'd be able to be productive. Then I remembered that I don't have to be productive anymore, and I went back to sleep. I picked Justin up at the airport. We hung out and talked to Mom for a bit, then went to see the Iron Man movie, which was full of awesome. Afterwards we bought junk food and ate at Memorial Park, then sparred. Afterwards we went back to the apartment and hung out and talked some more. Played some guitar hero. The whole nine yards. At church I said goodbye to all my friends, though I ended up seeing most of them - and more - at the Break the Fast that evening. It was awesome Mexican food, and then a fireside. Brielyn gave me a heart attack my grabbing my left hand and checking my ring finger when I reached out to grab a pen from Jessie. It wasn't funny. Mom has decided that she likes Sean, and she kept joking that she was going to bring him home with us. Sunday was a good day.
Monday we started out pretty early - filled the car with gas, checked the air in the tires, got junk food breakfast, and took off. I drove first, for about three hours, then switched with Justin. Mom brought us into Denver. We got checked into the hotel room and then chilled in the jacuzzi for a bit before heading out to dinner at the Sweet Tomato. Afterwards we reconvened at the hotel to watch House. Then Justin and I hung out in his room, both of us reading, and watched some Leno, and then I slunk back to my room to sleep. I finished Cassandra Clare's second book. It was awesome. I had that "awww, it's over! noooo!" feeling I get when I finish a particularly good novel.
Today was a long day. Mom got us over the mountains. Justin got us to Richfield. We listened to music. Talked. I slept. We traded music trivia, anime trivia, and the rest. We stopped in Cedar to see the gang. It was sooo good to see them. Mom scared the holy hell out of Ericka by pounding on her door while she was in the shower. Me, Mom, and Justin went to dinner with Ericka and Chani at the Chili's near Wal-Mart. Afterwards we went to Chani's new place to see Logan. I saw Samurai Bri again. I met Curtis for the first time. Saw Seth, who I haven't seen since I lived in the Eccles dorms second year of undergrad. He's just back from his mission and is getting married.
We made it back here in one piece. I got all but my clothes put away. And now it's really, really time for bed. But I made it home safe.
