I had a fairly eventful week and probably should have updated much sooner so as to get all the details down.

This week I discovered the joy of Pandora radio, which means I don't have to kill my iPod day after day at my desk and I get to listen to old swing, jazz, and ska that I haven't heard in years. Richard Cheese, the Cherry Poppin' Daddies, and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy are suprisingly pleasant to listen to at the office. Also, I found this song wherein some Elvis Impersonator covers Nirvana's "Come As You Are." It's surprisingly awesome.

On Wednesday Sei, BenTen, Del, and Logan all drove down to hang out with me, which was so awesome. Amidst Mom trying to sell the truck, worries about the stove blowing up the entire house, and Mom's duty as ward librarian, we had a great sloppy joe meal and then hit the mall. I bought a copy of Card's "Enchantment" because I spotted it while I was helping Del pack her books a long time ago and the first line was awesome. It has continued to be very worth reading. Card has a strange way of looking at the world, but it works. Then we rented "Interstate 60" which Logan and I had seen all the way through and of which Sei had seen bits. We had some turtle pie, and even Mom sat down to watch it with us. When the end credits hit, we were all very enthusiastic about the film. Though no one can quite tell why it got me to properly apply for grad school.

Thursday. Well. Mom sold the truck. I went on what was a nice date but sort of snowballed into something vaguely disastrous.

Friday was good. Work was fine - boss was doing depositions so we girls ran the office - and then I drove up to Cedar. BenTen and I hiked up the canyon. She demonstrated her broad knowledge of local flora. We discussed gaming, life in general, and how everything around us, though edible, was probably not palatable. We talked of other things, and at the end of the day I have discovered that she really is my sister and I love her more than I understand. I also saw Marty for the first time in a long time. I do love that kid and wish we could have hung out more. I missed him like crazy. We gamed in Weber's basement, which was a new experience, but I think that was the first time I went down there without thinking his half-finished suits of mail would come to life and eat me. Sei said he went on a mad cleaning spree while I was gone.

We abandoned gaming because, sadly, I am not so great a GM as my dear sister BenTen and got thrown off my groove in a very unprofessional manner, so we retreated to the apartment to talk some more - philosophy, and an impromptu question-and-answer game that either involved the words "yes" or "no" in which those who answered did not know the question. Also, we invented another Q&A game that, predictably, involved dice, which was a rather genius creation.

Sei and I woke at noon, chatted, went for food and foraging for supplies. We returned to the apartment, chatted some more, and then Del came home. We talked, and admired the kitten - does it have a name? - and then BenTen awoke, and we attempted to make some plans to see each other more even though my departure is frighteningly imminent. I came home. Had supper. Mom and I waxed and cleaned my car, and then we watched House.

And now I should sleep.

But I probably won't.
