I had a great weekend. There were a few bumps in the road, but it all went well in the end. I got off work at four, had dinner with my parents, and then drove up to Cedar City. The highway itself was fairly pleasant and there was no ice or snow till I was a few miles outside of Cedar. Driving in town was a little trickier. A little snow bank tends to build up between lanes and whenever I tried to change lines my car attempted to rebel. When I was attempting to park I got my car stuck in a snow bank. As Logan needed some fetching we needed to unstick the car. Me, Seirra, and BenTen were out in the snow - me sans gloves, hat, or proper shoes and rapidly in danger of losing some precious extremities - rocking the car back and forth, pouring salt, and shoving the car. They did much more shoving than I did, but in the end we all shoved some and now my shoulders are just a bit sore. A stranger, a girl named Tiffany, walked by and saw us struggling, and we were more than surprised when she returned a few minutes later with a snow shovel. A Utah native, she was all good with the snow, and we struggled a lot, but we got the car out. We later sent her candy and a thank-you card, because she deserved it. Del said that the male dwellers of the Manor are helpful, but none of them were home, so we were ladies were stuck to our own devices, but we succeeded.

Turns out Logan thinks a Texaco Station and a Shell station are the same, and he lives in a bloody mansion. I've seen a few mansions in my time, but after living here for seven years and suffering the gaudiness of the nouveau riche I'd forgotten how lovely some houses can be. Then again, I think I may have been dazzled by the Christmas lights. We fetched Chris, attempted and failed a game of Bean roulette, and played. For FIVE HOURS. Del worked a grave that night, and so we didn't see her till the morning, but I had a hell of a lot of fun. Logan kept playing with a butterfly knife and making us all uncomfortable should he lose control of it, but he let me borrow some of his Ultimate X-Men comics, which I read this morning hiding in my room while the rest of my family scampered off to an earlier ward.

After the game the boys wandered off, and Seirra slept on the couch - though I suppose she could have kipped on Del's bed - and BenTen and I went to bed. Del came home and didn't go to sleep, and we ended up talking. Once everyone was awake we took ourselves to IHOP for breakfast and talked, and it was a lot of fun. There were a few mishaps, for whenever I stopped at an intersection there was no guarantee that I would be able to get the car moving again because none of the intersections were plowed properly. We took Sei back to the dorms after a few more car-shoving adventures, and then we set off to free Del's car from its icy prison. Upon freeing it we ventured to Wal-Mart, me to look for a copy of the Covenant DVD - there were none - and a thank you card for Tiffany, and the others to buy food for their restored fridge. Del also got snow tires on her car, and while she was talking to the mechanics BenTen and I watched kids sledding down a snowy hill and remembered good and dangerous times on cafeteria trays. We also ran into Hyrum, one of the old bosses from Integrity House, while waiting for Del's car, and had some awkward conversation.

Then we went home, unpacked, and unwound a little bit before I drove home. Made it into town safely and swung by Wal-Mart first thing to pick up that DVD. Made it home in time to read some more X-Men and then have a nap, and then Sid took us out to dinner at Scaldoni's, a nice Italian restaurant. It was good food and we had fun, but I was horribly under-dressed. Shaz, Sid, and I went to Hollywood to see if we could find any decent James Franco movies we hadn't already seen, but the ones we could find were rated R and Shaz doesn't watch those anymore so we grabbed Lady in the Water, and I found Kenneth Branagh's Hamlet.

We watched the Covenant first. I'd say Shaz's powers of plot prediction are improving but, despite Logan's protestations, it's not that great of a movie. But we enjoyed it. Lady in the Water wasn't what I was expecting, but I am amazed again and again at M. Night Shyamalan's imagination.

Then I read some more X-Men and went to bed. Woke up and read some more while everyone else thought I was asleep, then showered.

Going to church in an hour. It was good to see my friends.
