What ho! But the Nagi is still alive. Made it home safe and sound, if the fact that BenTen is alive is any sort of deductive evidence. Drove down Saturday after packing much gear. Hung out. BenTen and I went to see "The Pursuit of Happyness." Surprisingly sweet. We had dinner with the folks, hung out some more, and then I took her to meet the shuttle. Watched "The Devil Wears Prada" with the parents.

Woke for church. Went to the one o'clock YSA ward. Blissfully child-free. Bliss ended when we had to sit around for an hour and a half listening to dating and marriage advice. As it turns out, not every girl grows out of tomboy. I was bored out of my skull but managed to not fall to doodling and fidgeting. Sat with a guy named Tom Whiting. We went to the same high school. Relief Society lasted for ten minutes. We had dinner. Shaz came over with assorted small dogs. We watched "The Sentinel." End was disappointing, but I like Keifer Sutherland.

Woke for work on Monday. It was fun. My coworkers are very nice. Olivia is an amazon of a Tongan woman who is very friendly. Sammy is a blonde college undergrad. She only works part time. Most of her task invovled photocopying. Cheryl is the paralegal. She's funny. Olivia and I went to lunch together at Subway and talked. It was fun. She's funny and I like her. I do have to dress nicely every day. It's like being back in private school - wear one formal stuffy outfit for seven hours and then get to wear street clothes or civilian clothes after hours. After work I came home. Mother had left instructions for me to take a Christmas present to Aunt Marge. Presents among the neighbors always seem to involve food. Aunt Marge bought me an absolutely beautiful graduation present - a sterling silver necklace with an amber pendant. It's the only piece of jewelry that I have with amber on it. Go figure. Aunt Marge and I talked for about an hour before dinner, and she gave me some of her awesome cookies. Dinner was nice. I went to FHE like a good girl. Didn't know anyone there until Corry showed up. We ended up with some guy named Anthony talking anime and all sorts of other nerdiness. I had planned to stay an hour and ended up staying three. Go figure.

Went to the gym this morning with mom before going to work. Work was good. I spent most of the day trying to get the casefile database off the ground. We'll see how that goes. I also got to run down to the records office to look stuff up. That's what assistants are for. Lots of people brought by candy and Christmas baskets. I took my lunch hour in the empty office down the hall. Sushi, music, and Neil Gaiman. It's the only way to go. So far my favorite story in "Fragile Things" is "Other People." Short and merciless. Got off work a little late and am home now.

Hopefully I'll get a chance to sit down with dad and get some faster internet up and running. We have slow dial up, so while pages are loading I'll get bored and multitask, which only slows the computer down more.

Whatever.

Going to a concert tonight with the family.
