Day 388: A Game of You
Nov. 21st, 2006 11:26 amYesterday was long. I dressed up in that pretty Indian outfit mom made be because I felt like it. It was something of a social experiment as well. People were much nicer to me - holding doors open and whatnot - because I was dressed nicely. Or maybe prettier. Weird. Not sure how I felt when I first realized that. Amused, perhaps, and a bit annoyed. Nick hit on me. I shudder even now to think of it. I really need to just stab people who get into my personal space like that.
I covered Whitney's 8 a.m. shift, so I was at school for a very long time. I finished Bleak House in a timely manner the night before, and so used what spare time I had to read a dorky D&D book and roll up some NPC's. Once school was over and done with, Alex and I picked up Seirra and then came back to the apartment. Waited around a bit for Marty, then gave in and decided to start without him. He showed up, and we made our way through a battle or so. A few trap doors. That sort of thing. I planned ahead a decent amount. They have the rest of the imperial palace to face. Seirra and Alex were fairly audacious, and I liked it.
Ericka, Seirra, and I watched Heroes and shrieked at the end. Poor Peter! And crazy theories on Sylar. We do love that show. A lot. I love that show a lot - it makes me happy. After Heroes we sat around and talked for a bit, and then decided to game online. We played with Logan, who is a very good player. Decent length on his posts, and doesn't completely wreck the grammar of the English language. He just sort of hovered a bit to see what we were like and how we did things, but when he jumped in it was pretty good. Our characters for this NYC demonslaying series are really coming together as a party. We got some great lines in at each other.
Del, on the other hand, is miserable. I don't know what to do. I don't even think a decent hug will fix this. Hopefully she'll get to have a break and go home and see her family and have a lovely Thanksgiving. She works damned hard, and she deserves it.
I am also woefully behind on the nanowrimo. I also have a hellacious amount of research and paper work to do. I reserve the right to be very nervous. But I'll do what I can.
Brad's brand new gun is a Desert Eagle.
