Day 350: Comrades and friends
Sep. 14th, 2006 08:11 pmToday was an interesting day, to say the least. After Shakespeare, Megan and I had lunch with Rae and Tvordi. It was cool. We bought food for each other and sat in the rotunda, just talking and laughing and having a whole load of fun. Tvordi is such a cool professor. We love her lots. I enjoy the fact that she's so down-to-earth, and I can consider her a friend. Yesterday I saw her after Latin with baby Joe, who was playing ball with Professor Calland. Sometimes, the older I get, the more bitter I think I become. The older I get as well, the more willing I am to change my opinions about people. Dr. Calland wasn't much of a professor, but like Professor Moorty she's such an awesome person, and I think I'd like to be friends with her, even if I never take a class from her again.
After lunch with Tvordi, Del and I headed back to the apartment, and ran into Rae, who gave us a ride the rest of the way. She came down to the apartment to hang out and just have some good fun. We talked and laughed, and sort of unloaded on each ther a little bit. Marty and BenTen came by, because they have that botany class together, and we all sort of hung out randomly, and then took off to the majors meeting. The three of us slunk in late like a matching trio of sinners. It wasn't much that I hadn't heard before, except for the new grammar requirements that I seem to have escaped. Lucky me. I do know the difference between transitive and intransitive verbs. Yay. After the meeting, Marty and I came back to the apartment. Alex swung by for a while, originally seeking help on a paper, but in the end seemed pretty distraught about his love life and other human complications, and so just talked for a bit before giving up and going home. My mom called as well, and we talked. She and Dad are back from Texas. They had a lot of fun. It turns out that UT Austin, where I had thought of going, is now ranked the number one party school in the country. Apparently it is currently being attended by Pres. Bush's daughter. I randomly joked that I would throw things at her if I saw her.
I am honestly not that malicious, and will not blame people for who their parents happen to be. Kids can't pick their parents anymore than parents can pick their kids.
It was good talking to mom. Rae came by a little later, and we just sat around and talked. It was fun. Last semester I was standoffish, and I think more than a little mean when it came to her, but, as with Del, after waiting it out and being able to talk at the right time, I hit it off with her and I like her. Yay!
Saw Josh last night for the first time in a long time, and we made a group run to Wal Mart like it was the old days in the dorms. I picked up some blank CD's and had a good load of fun with that. Burned some CD's last night. Seirra came over last night, see, and wrote and stuff while I did homework, like a little study party. Yes, I know, that was horribly out of linear time sequence. This is the way the mind works.
Del is off to the movies with some people from work, and BenTen works tonight. I finished Oliver Twist - I forgot the part about Bill Sikes accidentally hanging himself at the end - and now all I really have to do is study for the LSAT's. Go me. Maybe I will burn more CD's for myself that I don't really need but really, really want. For in my car. For when I drove home. Because I am weird like that.
I also started doing some groundwork for a nanowrimo novel - which I shall attempt once the LSATs are done - with the girls. I need to write about girls more. Most of my stories are overpopulated by men. I like men and all, but it is clearly a shortcoming of mine that I do not have enough awesome female characters. The murder mystery has cool female characters, but they are still outnumbered by the men.
Bad Nagi.
Schuldich is laughing his ass off at me.
