I love the bottled sodas they sell on campus, because they're a bit old-fashioned, come in fun flavors, and I can swill them like booze when I'm having a particularly bad day. My friends tell me that I swill any drink like it's booze when I'm in something of a sour mood, and it amuses them. Well, these bottled sodas used to have twist-off camps, which I could manage on my own. On Monday I had a hell of a time opening one, which ticked me off to no end. I pestered multiple people - chicks in the writing center, Dr. Tvordi, and then Dr. Petersen. He opened one of the cupboards in his office, set the top of the bottle against the edge of the cupboard door, and popped off the top like it was nothing. Wow. So today at lunch, when I got me a huckleberry soda, I was very displeased to find that it would not open with a twist, mostly because my yakisoba was a bit spicier than I expected and I needed relief. I decided to follow Petersen's example and slam the top off. Which I did. Upon further inspection, the caps no longer twist off. I refuse to purchase a bottle opener for my keyring. But now I can open bottles like the "cool kids" who drink booze, so there you go. Who said English was all about books, anyway?

I also talked to Daisuke, my very adorable former Japanese teacher. His English is better and better every time I see him. He's living in Juniper again. I was a bit reluctant to hang out at the dorms just for the sake of DDR, but Seirra is there, and I don't see her as much as I'd like even though she just got back into town, and well, even though I'm really not such a boy-crazy freak, seeing a pleasant, attractive guy is really a nice pick-me-up for the day.

I got done with my Shakespeare reading in good time this afternoon, in time to skip off to Latin. There are three of us in that class. It's sad. I'll have to make a run down to St. George to pick up my Latin book and a few other key supplies, but oh well. I want to see my mom and the little gimp mutt anyway. I doodled around a bit, but strangely enough, I actually feel like doing homework, so here goes. Wow. Go me. I also got volunteered to do a presentation in one of my classes, so I'm gonna get cracking on that as well.

I also ran into Rae, and we chatted for a little bit. She's blonde now. It's strange.

And I really want to get my hair dyed blue.
