Lately life has been rather sedate. Friday night was all kinds of fun. Alex called me up and invited me to go to a movie, which he claimed had cute boys in it. As Del made it home on time, we went together, and met Alex and some of his friends there, to enjoy the movie. There was a preview for the Grudge 2. I never saw the first one, only the Japanese version, but I'll at least admit that it got me good. I remained more or less unimpressed through the trailer of the second film, mostly because the make-up artist must have been insane, and the corpses were more blue than white, which made them more like malicious smurfs than anything, but Del grabbed my arm hard enough to make it hurt. Sometime, I think on Thursday, Marty came by, and that was nice, because he always has awesome stories to tell (he got punched in the face by a hot Scottish woman for complimenting her dress, which she misheard). The movie (and yes, this is all sorts of disorganized) was Step Up, a dance movie not unlike the tradition of Dirty Dancing, Center Stage, and Save the Last Dance, a combination of classical dancing and modern (in this case hip-hop) dancing with a bit of social/class conflict thrown in for good measure. I only thought one of the male actors was attractive, and then I don't think he was the one audiences were meant to set special attention on. The film was fairly cliche and very predictable, but the dancing was amazing, and I enjoyed the movie anyway. Del and I wanted to go dancing after the movie. I miss going dancing. No one will go dancing with me anymore. Not that there are places to go dancing in Cedar City, Utah, anyway.

Saturday was fairly blah. Josh came by and we talked for a bit. I watched some more of Alias season 4. I recognized the opening episode because I'd watched it with, of all people, my mother, some time ago, I think in my first or second year of college when I happened to be home. But the series is enjoyable, and amusing, and doesn't take itself as seriously as it could. Even though he's a royal jerk, I love Sark. He makes me smile. His snark is top of the line. Josh showed us his new apartment, and then we worked. I was next door by myself, as we were incredibly short-staffed, and was paranoid the entire night. Even the goldfish started to scare me.

Today was rather...boring. Del worked morning and swing, and Ericka worked swing, so after I woke up the house was mine. I crocheted through ten episodes of first season Rurouni Kenshin (and I still know the names of his sword techniques, which is very sad) and then watched the 4th Harry Potter movie. I think I like it best because the ending still somehow strikes me emotionally, in a way I can't describe. It's like coming to the end of a long novel, wherein I've fallen in love with half of the characters, and don't want t say goodbye. Few movies end like that for me. I like it. And, well, Robert Pattinson is pretty hot.

Ralph Fiennes is hot, too, but not as Lord Voldemort. *shudder*

Now I'm at work, alone with Chris in the Big House. I haven't seen him in a long time.

Yesterday I called Mary Ellen to wish her happy birthday, but the poor dear was very ill, so our conversation was rather brief. And then she didn't call me today. I did speak to my sister, however. I think we should do something together when I get down in town. Technically we've already celebrated her birthday, but maybe we could go to the movies or something, just the two of us. She also generously invited me to come use her shiny new X-Box 360 even if she's at work. Maybe I'll beat that first level of Kameo after all. Although I was having fun with Tomb Raider.

Dad won't be home when I get there.

And the university website is being awful, so even though I have a printer now, the website won't let me access my own class schedule so I know what books to buy. It's driving me a bit barmy, and has done for several days now. The website is always at its worst right when it's needed most, of course.
