Day 309: Back in Cedar
Jun. 14th, 2006 01:25 pmOkay, so I was actually back in Cedar yesterday. I always promise to call my mom and tell her that I've arrived, but I always forget to, and she's always left in a panic for a couple of hours until she can find me. I think I should do the Leonard Shelby thing and tattoo myself a reminder on my hand or something. "Call Mom when you arrive." But I'd probably forget anyway.
I was back in America a couple of days ago, actually, but then I was dead tired and am still a bit jetlagged. I unpacked, washed lots of clothes, repacked, and came up here. It was great coming home. I saw Ericka first, and there were hugs, unpacking (our fridge is now stuffed - thanks, Mom!) and then we went to see Josh and Nick. We also checked mail, and then, in traditional scooby glory, we took ourselves to see a dumb horror movie, by way of Omen. I read a review of it in the London Times and it didn't sound great. It got me in a couple of spots, and the image of the monk with the burned head - reminiscent of the guy who gets mangled by hogs in Hannibal - haunted me into my dreams, but Del breathing on the other side of the room was a concert. I got to see Nick, whom I hadn't seen in a month, but he couldn't come to the movies with us. After the movie we came home in time to see Del, and then we spent our evening watching the fourth Harry Potter movie, building Del a new bookcase.
I am also pleased to announce that I am technically gainfully employed. Del is giving up her nights, and so I'm taking them instead. This week I only have two nights, but by next week I ought to have four. Sadly, this new form of employment means that I must obtain a cellphone, and very grudgingly at that, but what must be done must be done. We also stayed up to see the Rowsmakitty last night. That was fun. I haven't seen him in a while.
This morning Del and I were up at around the same time. I showered first, and then pottered around on the internet while she showered. Living in the apartment with these two has been great so far. Del sings in the shower, but she's got a great voice, so it actually makes for a pretty awesome morning soundtrack in my life. I ran some errands, and soon I am off to see my boyfriend!
