Or not. Just in the garden. I rolled out of bed before eleven - although my lessons in staying in bed past ten have paid off. Mom and I worked in the garden all morning, raking leaves and mowing the lawns and stuff. It was warm, and I didn't need a sweatshirt, and part way through the job I was seriously starting to consider changing into some shorts, but it was probably better that I didn't. Dad even helped some, though the garden is technically mom's domain. Our old lawnmower is really in its last days. The thing wouldn't run for more than a few minutes before just giving up. I mostly entertained myself by singing loudly and obnoxiously to the music on my MP3 player and imagining the demise for our neighbor's true. I'm sure you've heard tale of Julie the evil neighbour. Her tree hangs over our side of the wall and drops stuff everywhere (mom and I always prune the trees and pick fruit off of them before they make a mess in other people's yards) and she never does anything about it. I considered setting it on fire and arranging so it fell on her house. As long as the fire was contained - and it could be done easily - nothing too horrible would happen, right?

I finished Faulkner's novel of stupid doom. Wow. That was hard. I have two more novels to tackle. I promised mom they'd be done by Tuesday when we head back up to the dorms. I tried all day to call Josh, but to no avail, so I shall call Charlie and Emily tomorrow and see what gives for New Year's Eve. The family watched "Clue" after supper, something neither of the parents had seen. My father is notoriously picky with his movies, but I don't share BenTen's unfortunate taste in films (you know I love you, dear) and so he was appeased. It was mostly a lazy day for me. I typed up those short stories, and they will appear for their respective audiences in due time. I also lolled around on the bed staring at the ceiling.

Nick called. SHGP. 'Nuff said.

I am enjoying the history book immensely. What a nerd I am. This vacation has done me well. My father is also crazy.
