Day 178: Another weekend going by...
Jul. 17th, 2005 01:28 pmSo this was a pretty long weekend. For me it started on Thursday. After work I drove up to BenTen's and we hung out. We visited the new Pandana residence, and then we three girls (we picked up Aya) went to the Ren fair and wandered around. I got me a black fox tail and a pretty thing for my hair, and then we went to Applebee's for dinner. We were up till around midnight hanging out, playing cards and talking and whatnot. It was fun to just hang out with the girls again.
BenTen had to work early the next day, though, so I was up early myself and headed home. As it turns out, Corry did call and ask me out, so I came home, did a couple of random chores for mom and then went to meet Corry. As he does not have a car (I sure know how to pick them, don't I?) I drove, and we headed back up to Cedar to hit the ren fair again. He's actually a really nice guy, personable and all that, and for all that he's not the same academic geek as me he likes anime and video games and stuff, so we could talk. He also listens to some loud music, like Cradle of Filth and stuff that mom really wouldn't like but BenTen seems to love. As per mom's usual deal, we had him over for dinner, and the whole family was there, so we ate and then played some Taboo and Scattergories. Shaz and Sid won the Taboo but I won the Scattergories. All in all it was a decent date, and he's a nice guy, and I was dumb enough to agree for a second date. He's totally rebounding, I know that, but it's not bugging me to be the rebound chick because I'm not falling in love with him (or any other fellas) any time soon. And if it gets weird, well, I move back up to the dorms in a few weeks anyway. On the way home, though, some kids in the car behind me were hassling me, so I poked my head out the window and cussed them out rather loudly. I think I'm going to invest in a cheap katana after all. Because even if it's not perfectly balanced I can use it, and spill some blood. Yes, I am a homicidal maniac. My hair just doesn't turn neon pink when I go nuts.
Saturday was my special day. I worked with one goal in mind - to get home and read the new HP book. ( Don't read this if you haven't finished the new book yet... )
The power went out while I was reading, but I stuck to it anyway. As the book was only 600-odd pages long it took only four hours to read, so once I had it read we headed out to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Good movie. We girls should see it together. And I want to see Corpse Bride when it comes out. I'm sure it'll become another Hot Topic gothic classic, just like The Nightmare Before Christmas. Today work was short and I'm glad. I've been stuck on my story plot again, and slacking on letter-writing and editing fics.
Bad Nagi.
I think Brad has projected my productiveness in the negative.
