Day 157: Lazy and working hard...
May. 18th, 2005 12:33 pmYesterday I was a good girl. Went out and watered the plants and all that good stuff (and may have discovered a method to water the over-packed pot without too much waste) and then set about writing. I'm keeping the house really clean, what with there only being one of me, and so between chore's I've been sitting around writing like mad. I went back and counted my handwritten pages (which is usually a curse) and I've written more than seventy by hand (i.e. 37 double-sided single-spaced with handwriting varying in size). Derrick called, then, and we wandered around the mall, hitting the bookstore and Hot Topic (because I reckon each of us girls ought to have at least one good, gothic-looking gown, all in black with lace and bodices and ribbons and stuff - maybe we can sew our own?) and talking shop, gaming and life and dating. It was fun hanging out with him, and he offered to take me to a movie, but I was going to cook myself dinner (I managed not to ruin sloppy joes) and watch some TV.
I watched Will & Grace because when I see it, it reminds me of Del - not that she's like Grace or anything, but...I'm sure Del knows what I mean. And then I watched Wheel of Fortune because it was on while I was cooking. The guy who won totally couldn't solve his puzzle, and with like four letters I solved it. I should have won the 25k, but oh well. I had fun watching the jeopardy, too, because it's fun to see how much you know.
And then I watched House for mom. Hugh Laurie is just the meanest, snarkiest dude ever (save, perhaps, for fanon Snape, but oh well). And the episode had lots of angst. It answered such questions as 'why does he walk with a cane?' and 'who was the woman who broke his heart five years ago?' and all that good stuff.
Afterwards I wrote. Lots. With Sense and Sensibility playing in the background. I reckon I'd best watch Prophechy while it's still light. I didn't go get Audi, and I reckon I should have, but I think I'll go get her today. I was so busy writing yesterday that I didn't get on the Net at all. That's how good the writing went.
Maybe later on I'll post that snogging scene I wrote to get some approval from Del - the sentence structure is all parallel and similar and seems to fall into a lulling rhythm that I'm not sure I like. I'll post it later. Tell me what you think, okay? Yay for the gratuitous snogging (while under duress, of course).
This morning I didn't roll out of bed till noon...it's going to be a lazy day indeed. Maybe after dinner I'll go out and clean up the mess in the garden that was left after the windstorm...
