Target didn't end up calling me for orientation, and while I want a job I reckon that's a good thing because I just need a few days to chill out and do nothing so when a job comes along I'll be all rested up and ready to go. Mom and Dad left on their vacation today, and I wish them all the best, safety and fun (or at least not killing each other).
Shaz and I are getting along fairly well. I'm sure the fact that we live apart for most of the year helps, but we went to see Hitchhiker's today, and it was awesome because the theater was pretty much empty except for these other two geeky guys. Maybe when Del and the girls come down we can go see Kingdom of Heaven and laugh at the terrible rendition of history? But Shaz and I had fun. Okay, so she owes me money again - we went shopping yesterday and she purchased some shoes and my new shoes will be in; black all-star hi-tops like BenTen said - but it was worth it. Sort of like one of those rare old days from back in high school when we got along, cruising along in her car and singing to that weird brand of Brit Pop music we grew up with that no one here seems to comprehend (except for Rodney, who at least knows who Vanessa Mae is). Shaz didn't quite get the movie, but I just loved the humor in it. Go see it, Del, it has Bill Nighy, only he's not a rock star this time. And Alan Rickman played the most adorable manically depressed robot ever. Well, the robot was cute, sort of chibi-ish with its huge head, but his depressed voice made it all so much cuter.
Ugh. A man who's old enough to be my grandfather is cute. I need a head check.
I watched the second half of the Elvis special for mom, who couldn't. I was never into Elvis much as a kid, although I do enjoy some of his old rock, and after watching this...I'm not sure what to think. The Colonel was a scary guy (the way they portrayed him for the sake of drama, of course) and I felt bad for Elvis for being under his thumb, but on the other hand Elvis just seemed like a spoiled brat and I really didn't like him.
Much to my shame I've been writing again, and it's this very bizarre romance that will probably end up on Schnoogle. I hang my head in shame, Del, I'm sorry.
I have a copy of Megatokyo number three, as well, for anyone who wishes to borrow it when I'm done with it.
The murder mystery is coming along slowly as well. Only three dead so far. Out of thirteen. Not the best progress, I know, but oh well.
Glad to hear you all are coming to visit me. I'm having Sid check on whether or not we can get a hotel up north so we don't impose upon Del's parents too much, but there may be an age issue - one tends to have to be 21 to be able to rent a room. Glad to know you are all doing well.
Peace, love and Harry Potter.
I am such a dork.
