Today was a good Friday, and not in a religious sense of the word. *Snort* Not at all. My morning classes were...were. Brit Lit is as dull as ever, but Harris is a nice guy so I can tolerate the class. We had a fascinating discussion about race in Franklin's class, and as much as there isn't anything of real lecture in that class, I do come away thinking about things, so I think that's what counts.

See, Franklin is right. Genetically, there's no such thing as race. The differences in DNA are so negligible for things like height, skin, hair and eye color that white DNA doesn't look any different from black DNA. I think race is a completely social construct. See, the physical differences we use to define race are completely necessary - they're our adaptations for the climates we originate from. But a race is not a group of people who look the same so much as a group of people who hold the same social customs, values and traditions. In times past it has been people who look the same who act in similar ways, but with our increased technology that allows for travel and world-wide communication we're becoming more and more amalgamated into each other. See, I look Asian, and I know it, and I don't care, but for all the traditions and customs I hold I'm as caucasian as the next blonde, blue-eyed American girl. I'm a neat example of how race ceases to exist.

History was short, to say the least. BenTen and I were the only ones who showed up, so Bostick showed us his notes and let us go. In and out in about ten minutes. The BenTen and I ran some errands around town and when I got back to the dorms I talked to Mom. It felt really good to call her up and say hi. I should make an effort to call her a couple of times a week just to see what's up.

Me, Del, BenTen, Panda and Aya went to see "Sin City." It was visually stunning and unrealistic but awesome all the same. After reading graphic novels for so many years I could totally tell that it was based off a graphic novel, but it was amazing to see all the same. They really had an all-star cast. Elijah Wood as freaky boy with Crawford glasses and a kid!Squall shirt...yeah, that was cool. The opening scene was my favorite, the one with Josh Hartnett and the lady in the red dress. Wow. I'd buy the movie just for that scene. There wasn't even a lot of swearing. Lots of graphic death, but hey...

After the movie we took ourselves out for a weird dinner snack thing at Lupita's. It was a small, quaint Mexican restaurant and not quite what we were expecting. I'm impressed that I made it through the night alive after eating that flan. So good.

Panda, Aya, Del and I went to Panda's apartment to play some zombie, wherein I did my worst (best?) impression of Momiji in my desperation to win...my nerves got the better of me. I get all tense right at the end of games. And then we watched Shaun of the Dead. Weirdest, coolest zombie movie ever.

One of those zombie, death-filled nights.

We are the Evil 1337.
