The VtM game was awesome. We had loads of fun. Before we went to play me, BenTen, Panda, the Cub and their roommate Chris (yes, another Chris) went to Panda Express for dinner and it was fun. Then Soujiro called on the phone and we chatted. And then Panda, being who he is, had to ask, loudly, in the middle of a family restaurant, whether or not she and her man were 'doing it like bunnies'. We got loads of dirty looks. It was too funny. I think we were the group of teenagers that the old people were grumbling at the whole time.
Sunday was another boring day. I managed to get that snooze-inducing reading done for history. I was induced into a snooze so thoroughly that a phone call from Yutaro-chan had to wake me up. I felt so bad listening to her; I wish there was something I could do. She gave up everything for that man and he's broken her heart. Since I'm essentially alone for my birthday I figured BenTen and I could go down to Vegas and take Yutaro out for a girls' night on the town to cheer her up. She needs it. I just have to ask my parents if they'd be up for something like that. Maybe a load of us could make a trip down so Panda drove or something. But I feel for you, girl, and I'm glad you still feel you can call me!
Sunday night we girls went to the Panda Cave and we got together (after a bit of wrangling, lots of talking and buying of snacks) and we watched for hours of Kindred: The Embraced. They were pretty true to the lingo, but fudged a few things. Like Kindred can walk in sunlight after they've fed. The Nosferatu wasn't ugly enough, and Brujah just don't seem like suit-wearing kind of guys to me. And the disciplines were all over the place. But that was okay, because it was cool all the same. Lots of fun and laughter for the group.
And we don't mind if you've been charmed by the Panda Cub, Del. BenTen's immune because she's got a catboy, and I'm immune because I know their father and they're both incredibly like their fathers. And I'm on that 'chocolate is better than men' thing too.
This morning I realized it would be cold when I woke up and heard some school maintenance kids scraping snow off the sidewalk. It was warmer than it could have been, but the snow was all melty and wet and dangerously slippery. French was cancelled because Mill is sick, so Del and I met up and hung out for about an hour before she had to run and do homework and I had to go to my next class. Classes were fine, although come lunch I was feeling pretty lousy again so I didn't eat much. History went much better this time, but I felt sort of bad because he would ask us questions and all of the answers were on sheets he'd given us, so I'd answer a question and he'd tell me good job and it was on the sheet in front of me. Weirdness, really. I think he'd forgotten he'd given us those sheets. But right as class was ending someone said something and we all looked out the window and the snow had started to fall.
On the walk home from class I turned into a yeti. The wind kept changing directions so sometimes I had snow in my face or snow flurries at my back. One snowflake got me right in the eye. There was this sudden cold sting and then my eye was wet and then I blinked and it was all over.
BenTen watched me write earlier and said I seemed sort of unhappy. I'm not unhappy; I just tend to be less energetic when it's cold. And I was sort of queasy from the prospect of food still. I have no right to be unhappy, especially when stuff is going down with people like Yutaro and Del's boss. If I'm a little malcontent there's no use mentioning it because it doesn't affect my schoolwork. But it's cold, and I'm always a little whiny when it's cold and snowing.
