Day 593: A good Saturday

nagi_schwarzToday was a great day. I slept in till eleven o'clock because I could. When I finally hauled myself out of bed, I showered and then I cleaned my entire apartment. It's all nice and clean now, and that makes me smile. I went down to Best Buy to pick up the new Flogging Molly album, because I could. Then I went grocery shopping. I got enough food to last me for three weeks with around eighty bucks. I think. Maybe it was sixty? Anyway, I was pretty pleased at myself and my thriftiness. While I was out shopping I had a minor epiphany down the international food aisle. They sold mango nectar there, and I'd been craving a mango smoothie for a long time. Mom bought me this cool little combo blender auto-whisk thing that I haven't used, and I knew it could be used to make smoothies. So I bought a carton of the mango nectar. I made it home and got all my groceries up to my room in one trip (go me!) and put groceries away. Checked the mail. And then I made me a smoothie. I have an ice maker in my freezer, and I can, in fact, make myself a mango smoothie. It was great. So I read contracts, drank my smoothie, and listened to my new Flogging Molly album. After the album was done and my contracts were done, I threw on Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead and read five out of the eight cases for the motion brief of suck. Xiao Qian called to tell me she'd survived her dental appointment, and then I went to Dustin's.
I met Tom, a new convert who's just old enough to have graduated the YSA Ward. Adam was there, as was James. Suzanne and her sister came, as did Rachel and then a couple of girls from the other ward. We watched the entirety of the second disc of Arrested Development (the first season). It's been a while since I've laughed so hard - I had a great time. Dustin says he'll throw another party, which is cool. Laughter really is the best medicine and all that.
So, all in all, I had a good Saturday.
Now I should sleep.
